Your first vehicle
Add a vehicle, register its tracker, assign the two, and watch it appear on the map.
Everything on the map is a vehicle with a tracker assigned to it. The vehicle carries the identity (plate, make and model); the tracker carries the IMEI the bridge decodes. Assignment is what turns a position into a vehicle.
1. Add the vehicle
Open Fleet and press Add vehicle.
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Plate | Required, unique within your account. Shown everywhere. |
| Name | The name people use: "Van 3", "Bus 1". |
| Make, model, year | Sets the fuel consumption used for cost, looked up in a catalog of 660+ models. |
| Category | The fallback consumption when the model is not in the catalog. |
2. Register the tracker
In the Trackers section press Register tracker. Enter the IMEI printed on the device, pick its protocol (each protocol has its own port, shown in the list), and optionally the model and SIM number.
Registering also creates the device in the bridge, so the bridge accepts its connections. If the bridge was unreachable at that moment the row shows a warning; use Reactivate to retry.
3. Assign
In the tracker's row, pick the vehicle in the Assigned to dropdown. From the next position onwards, the pipeline resolves that IMEI to that vehicle.
4. Point the device at the server
Configure the tracker with the server address and the port of its protocol. See Supported trackers for the ports and the tracker guides for the SMS commands.
5. Watch it arrive
Open Live. The first position flies the map to the vehicle. The marker colour is its status: green moving, amber idling (engine on, not moving), grey stopped, red no fix. A vehicle that stops reporting fades from the map after two minutes rather than showing a stale position as if it were live.
